We Have Been Set Free From The Bonds Of Sin
Romans 6:1-2
(1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
(2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6:11-15
(11) Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(12) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
(13) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
(14) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.(15) What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
These verses are just a few that discuss this topic of "Being Set Free from Sin". I personally find this a wonderful subject to think and to speak on. God basically has told us here that we no longer have to "Serve Sin"! We have not only been set free from the chains and fetters (or Shackles) of the Sinful fleshly nature that we are born with, but we have also been set free from the chains that we have been guilty of "Binding Ourselves" with.
The Bible tells us here that God, through the finished work of Jesus on Calvary, has ALREADY BROKEN the chains of sin. Here is the ONE question that I have been asking Christians, Preachers as well as myself. IF we have in fact been "SET FREE" why then do we as Christians pick up those same chains that He (Jesus) has mercifully removed from us, by His actions on the cross, and then "Re-chain" or "Bind Again" our hearts and lives to Sin and the devil?
When faced with the truth of this question, How will YOU answer it? Are you guilty of picking up those wretched chains and placing them back on your body? Only you can answer this one. Does your life show the evidence of the bondage and chains of Satan, or are you living Victoriously??!!

Hey, Bill and I listened to one of your semons and OH my You sound like your Dad!!! I remember back when I was about 9 or 10 y'all came to the church I attended and your dad preached a wk long mtg. It was on the family! That was the first time my dad went to church with Mom and I! Before dad got saved he made mom and I stop wearing pants and shorts! Then about a yr later Pastor Herchenhahn lead dad to the Lord.
Anyway, all that to say I'm enjoying your sermons on line and you sure sound like your Dad!!!
