An Urgent Prayer Request

Be One That Makes A Difference!

I want to ask for as many of you that will, please pray for my wife, Mrs. Suzette Dunn. She has been battling with severe back problems for almost 5 years now. She has been to numerous hospitals all over the country and everyone keeps saying they cannot find the trouble, they will give her a shot of something for pain relief then send her home with 2 or 3 prescriptions to take.
This past year while we were pastoring a small Church in Alabama, we actually found a Doctor there who was able to diagnose the real problem with her back. Suzette has 2 herniated discs in her lower back. The doctor was treating her for this problem and she was improving daily when we were forced to leave Alabama last November (2008)
Since that time she has not been in too much pain, well, last Sunday (January 18) Suzette woke up and was not able to get out of bed due to excruciating pain! This las week she has been rushed to the hospital twice and they have done the same thing as before, a shot for pain and 2 prescriptions to go home with.
Please pray that God will touch her back and heal her if it is His will. She is also very discouraged because she is not able to get up out of bed and care for her family like she wants to. She is tired of laying down, seeing this is all she can do, it does get old after a short while.
I ask for your help and assistance in this need because I feel that the more people who will pray the better!
On behalf of Suzette and the whole family... Thank You for your willingness to help with this great personal need.

We are His!

A Thought Provoking Question For Us All.

Yesterday, my Pastor made a statement during the Sunday School lesson about how none of us will ever really know "How Far Reaching Our Testimony Really Is Until We Get To Heaven". This statement that was made just sort of "Jumped Up" in the forefront of my mind and I began asking myself the question... "Just How Far Reaching IS My Testimony For Jesus Christ?"

I began to think of the truth that "My Personal" testimony for Christ, is seen EVERYWHERE I GO! That is a sobering thought in itself. Everywhere I go, I represent Jesus Christ my Savior! (EVERYWHERE!) this means there is Nowhere on earth, or outer space for that matter, that any of us could go where our testimony would not go with us!

Realize that when you go to Church, your testimony goes with you. When you "Sneak Out" to go somewhere you have no business going... your testimony goes there too! When you light that cigarette and bring it to your lips... yep, your testimony is there in spite of the fact you are doing something wrong.

I find it interesting to think about this, I knew a preacher's kid who used to sneak out and go to bars, strip clubs and pick up "Hookers" on Friday and Saturday nights but was back in church Sunday morning, teaching his Sunday School class like nothing was wrong! Someone might say that this man was "JUST LOST" AND DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. I remember watching how miserable his life really was behind the scenes. I remember watching God "Rake Him Over The Coals" time and time again, still many said... "He's Just LOST!" I was there the night that God "BROKE" him in his tracks, stopped him and dropped him to his knees... I was there as he prayed and asked forgiveness for what he had done to "Tarnish" and drag the Name of God through the muck and the mire of this world. I heard him ask God to wash him in the precious blood of Jesus and make him a vessel that God could use for His (God's) Glory!

When he finished praying, I asked him if he had gotten "Saved", he said, "Dave, I was saved at the age of 12. About 2 years ago, I got "Fed-Up" with what I thought was "Christian Living" and I ran the opposite way! I know that I was saved at 12 years old, what I just did was get right with God and NOW I am beginning to walk back on His path for me." We talked for several hours after that and one of the questions I asked him was if he had given any thought to just how much he had "Trashed" his testimony for Jesus during the past 2 years, his response to this question was given to me 35 minutes later, through tear filled eyes, I have NO Idea, Oh how many I may have sent to HELL!
Today, this man is faithfully serving God in the ministry full time! He is a soul winner and every chance he gets he "Trumpets" the great need that we in the Church have today of getting and keeping a closer, consistent walk with the Lord.

I ask you again, "Just How Far Reaching IS YOUR Testimony For Jesus Christ?" I cannot answer this for you, only you know the truth... by the way... So does Jesus!

Think About It!

NEW Prayer Card Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce that we have just sent our draft to the printers for our New Prayer Card! We are praying that within a week we will have them in our "Grubby Paws"! Please pray with us for this.
With the prayer card we can keep our family in front of people's face from the "Frig" or the mirror! These cards will be a serious blessing for us. Help us by spending some time this week in prayer that:

1. They are printed soon!
2. We can get them handed to the people and Churches that God wants them with.
3. It will help to bring others to lift our family up in prayer.

Thank you for assisting us in this particular area.

Just as soon as we get them printed, I will put one on my blog so you can see what it looks like.

Thanks again and may God Bless you.

Something Else New For You!

We told you a few posts ago that we will be bringing to you some new things. Here is another one.
We have had several people write and ask about how they can send Love Offerings and even asking about Supporting us on a Monthly basis! We are NOT asking for you to do this... we ask that you only consider the possiblity if the Lord lays it on your heart.
We have just added an option that will make it possible for you to do just that! It is through PayPal. On the left hand side of our blog, just under my picture, you will see a button you can click on that says "Donate". You can follow this link and you can put in any amount you desire.
This is something that will be a blessing to you and also for us. By your gift, you will be enabling us to go to an area and also to Churches who cannot afford to bring someone in for a special series of meetings or even for a Sunday. This will bring the gospel to people all over America! I believe that through your generosity you not only will be making it possible for us to go, you also will receive part credit for every souls saved and every Christian helped!
Think about it, pray over it and follow the Lord and His leading.

Because of Christ,

Brother Dunn

Sunday, January 11, 2009 update

This past Sunday, January 11, 2009, we were privileged to be with Pastor Matt Spencer and the good folks of Landmark Baptist Church in Moultrie, Georgia. I preached on Sunday morning and then in the evening service we did something a little different, we had what we like to call...
"Preach-O-Rama"!
What is this???!!! Let me explain. This is something that we have done several places before. It is where we have Singing by the congregation, special singing by The Dunn Family, then my son, Youth Evangelist David James Dunn, preached first, then our family sang again, then I preached, another song by our family and then the Pastor, Bro. Matt, preached the final message. Each message took only about 15 to 20 minutes and it was amazing to see again how God brought all three of our messages to bear on one subject; "The Danger Of Putting Christ Last" in our lives. This is a very real problem in our Churches, homes, our schools and in many of our own lives. We constantly are doing this to the Lord, telling Him to "Sit in the Back seat and Shut His Mouth"! We walk a dangerous path when we do this.
I would ask that you please join us in praying specifically for Landmark Baptist Church in Moultrie, GA. and also for Pastor and Mrs. Matt Spencer along with their precious son Luke, that The Father will bless this work, that He will bring laborers into this work as well. That the Lost will be able to hear the truth of the Gospel being preached and also see it being lived out in the lives of all the members and the testimony of this Church in the community.
We had such a wonderful time getting to spend this day with these sweet people, we are looking forward to being able to go back to visit with them again in the future.
Until next time,
Bro. Dunn

Still Holding Forth The Standard

Today I had the privilege of spending some time with my Youth Pastor from when I was a teenager. We sat and had lunch with each other, swapping stories and bringing each other up to date as to what is going on in our lives. We reminisced about "Old Times" and the way things "Used" to be.

We talked about people we knew back then and what they were doing today, we spoke of the church we used to attend and where they "Used" to stand and just how far they have "Drifted" away from the standard that was set and the foundation that was laid many years ago.

The longer we talked, the more obvious and heartbreaking the reality became that there are very few (Christian Homes, Schools, Preachers and Churches) who are "Still Holding Forth The Standard".

In our society, and in our Churches today there is an overwhelming sense of "Compromise". People as a whole seem more and more inclined to just STOP STANDING for ANYTHING!

The Bible tells us that in the "Last Days" there will be more and more of this kind of thing happening in our world. When the Bible talks about a "... falling away" it is talking about falling away from the Lord, from His word, His commandments, His instruction and His divine plan for our lives. Quite literally this is talking of "Departing" or "Walking Away" from Jesus Christ.

What a sad commentary for the Church. The one thing that Jesus left us is the Church, and He knew that we Christians are such "Leaky Vessels" that there would be a day when we would "Walk Away" from Him and also from His Teaching. Now let us be very clear on this fact, it is "US" (you and I) who have made the decision to "Turn" from the path, "Turn" from His presence and do our "Own Thing". It breaks my heart to watch as "Christianity" turns it's back on God.
